When Baha'is preach their beliefs, the audience are lectured about the “Oneness of Humanity” and are told that Baha'is treat people of all faiths with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, when one delves into Baha’i scripture, many instances are seen where the founders of Baha’ism in no manner respected the followers of other religions.
In a previous article, we showed how Baha’u’llah would refer to his deniers as animals, donkeys, pigs and bastards. In the current article we will show a number of instances where Abdu’l-Baha insults Muslims, Christians, Jews, covenant-breakers, and atheists in the name of humor and cracking jokes.
Atheists
In one instances, Abdu’l-Baha compares atheist philosophers with cows and then, when a lady refers to a herd of cattle as a crowd of philosophers, laughs so much that he tires himself:
“After delivering the message of God and explaining the divine teachings, the Master spoke humorously about the philosophers. They say that had there been a spiritual world they would have sensed it. But, as a matter of fact, inability to sense a thing is not a proof of the nonexistence of that thing. If inability to sense constitutes proof of perfection, the cow must be the greatest philosopher, for she does not realize anything beyond the animal world.
This amusing statement that the cow is the greatest of all philosophers caused everyone to laugh. After the meeting, some men and women invited Him to go for a ride in their automobile. While driving, a herd of cows passed in front of the automobile and, becoming frightened, began to run about every which way. The ladies in the car cried out, `Oh Master, see the crowd of philosophers. How frightened they are running away from us.' `Abdu'l-Bahá laughed so heartily that He tired Himself. As the Americans like such jests, it became an oft- repeated remark.” (Abdu'l-Bahá and Mirza Mahmud-i-Zarqani, Mahmúd's Diary: The Diary of Mírzá Mahmúd-i-Zarqání Chronicling 'Abdu'l-Baha's Journey to America, chap. 6)
Followers of Abrahamic religions
It has been narrated that Abdu’l-Baha enjoyed making fun of the followers of the Abrahamic religions by mentioning the following story:
“There was once a Muslim, a Christian and a Jew who were rowing across the sea in a small boat. The weather turned nasty and the waves grew mountainous. The Muslim began praying fervently. “Allah,” he intoned, “drown this infidel of a Christian.” About that same time, the Christian began supplicating God. “O Father,” he said, “cast this Muslim down to the bottom of the sea.” During all this, the Jew remained silent. The Muslim and the Christian demanded to know why he wasn’t praying. “I am praying,” the Jew replied, “I’m asking the Lord to answer both your prayers.”” (http://bahai-library.com/ballenger_master_humorist)
Another attitude that Abdu’l-Baha had was to make fun of a Christian man who had an ugly wife and the manner that they copulated. This is what Khalil Shahidi narrates in his memoirs:
“‘Abdu’l-Bahá used to say, “I asked him, ‘What do you do with her?’ And he responded, ‘I turn off the light.’” ‘Abdu’l-Bahá would then smile.” (Khali Shahidi, Translated by Ahang Rabbani, A lifetime With ‘Abdu’l-Bahá Reminiscences of Khalíl Shahídí p. 79)
He would also insult Muslims by portraying them to western visitors as being people who regarded madmen as sacred and their speech being the utterance of God:
“For instance, this was a story which he (Abdul Baha) told me, to illustrate the superstition and ignorance of the Moslem officials. It should be first explained that the Mohammedan regards the madman as a sacred person and the utterances of the insane as the utterances of Allah; and also that the dog throughout the East is nothing but a despised pariah.
"I was one day visiting the Mutessarif of Akka, a Kurd, when a madman entered the garden in which we were seated. His demeanour was wild, and his shirt blew open and displayed a bare chest. All rose to their feet as soon as they perceived his insane condition, and the Mutessarif gave the madman the seat of honour. In a moment a dog strayed in through the gate which the madman had left open, and barked at the company. Then said the Mutessarif to the madman, with great respect, ' Tell us, pray, Effendi, what the dog is saying.' The madman replied, ' I don't know.' 'Surely your Excellency understands the language of dogs?' 'I don't know,' repeated the madman. 'But I am certain that if your Excellency wished you could translate for us what the dog said.'
"Then the madman turned and said to the Mutessarif, maliciously, 'Who told you that I could speak Kurdish? '"” (E. S. Stevens, Abbas Effendi: His personality, work, and followers, Fortnightly Review, Volume 95, pages 1067-1084, Chapman and Hall, 1911)
Covenant Breakers
He would also mock covenant breakers and display them as stupid people by frequently narrating this disturbing story and heartily laughing:
“This egotistical man had two dimwitted and unintelligent sons: Husayn and Hasan. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá used to relate to this effect, “When speaking with Me, Siyyid Mihdí would greatly extol and praise Hasan’s astuteness, saying that the lad was most intelligent. There was a herd of goats at Bahjí. [While playing,] each of the Bahá’í kids was holding the udder of one of the goats, imbibing their milk. However, he [Hasan] was holding a male goat, imbibing it, and saying, ‘This is salty.’” When telling this story He would laugh heartily.” (Khali Shahidi, Translated by Ahang Rabbani, A lifetime With ‘Abdu’l-Bahá Reminiscences of Khalíl Shahídí p. 72)

You are here: Home>Articles> Abdu’l-Baha Wouldn’t Bathe for Months at a Time and How Baha’is Suppressed this Fact
Baha'u'llah has enjoined upon his followers to bathe once a week:
“It hath been enjoined upon you to pare your nails, to bathe yourselves each week in water that covereth your bodies, and to clean yourselves with whatsoever ye have formerly employed. Take heed lest through negligence ye fail to observe that which hath been prescribed unto you by Him Who is the Incomparable, the Gracious.”
According to Baha’i scripture, Abdu’l-Baha wouldn’t bathe for months at a time. This act going against his father’s orders, has been censored and supressed in published works of Baha’is or simply distorted in the translation of Baha’i works into English. We will present here two such documents.
The first document is a distorted translation in the book Mahmud’s Diary:
“One of the servants asked why man is not thankful when in comfort. `Abdu'l-Bahá replied, `It is due to negligence. Otherwise one must be aware and thankful when immersed in the sea of bounties.' Then He said, `I have not had a good bath for several months.' The ship's attendant was then asked to prepare a warm fresh water bath for Him. Afterwards, He said, `I am much better now. For a long time I have not had leisure to take a real bath.'” (Mahmud Zaraqani, translated by Mohi Sobhani, Mahmúd's Diary: The Diary of Mírzá Mahmúd-i-Zarqání Chronicling `Abdu'l-Bahá's Journey to America, p. 15, http://bahai-library.com/books/mahmud/)
Pay attention to the two words “good” and “real”. These adjectives do not exist in the original Persian text of Mahmud’s diary. Abdu’l-Baha clearly states that he has not had a bath for several months and that he has not had leisure to take a bath for a long time. Two seemingly innocent words (‘good’ and ‘real’) have been added to this statement to hide the fact that Abdu’l-Baha had not taken a bath for a long time. This is the original Persian text for comparison:
«چند ماه است حمام نرفته ام. لهذا بملازم جهاز سپرده شد که حمام حاضر نموده قدری آب گرم شیرین نیز مهیا کرد. پس از حمام فرمودند خیلی راحت شدم. مدتی بود فرصت حمام نمی نمودم.» (محمود زرقانی، بدایع الآثار، ج1، ص 10)
The second suppressed document is in Persian and has not been translated to English but is available on the official Baha’i library here: http://reference.bahai.org/fa/t/ab/MAS2/mas2-84.html#pg83 The prominent Baha’i scholar, Ishraq Khavari, mentions the following statement from Abdu’l-Baha at the bottom of the page:
«ای دو یار عزیز هیچ می دانید که عبدالبهاء غرق چه دریایی است .. حال مصمم حرکت به فرنگستانم که شاید خدمتی بآستان نمایم.» (اشراق خاوری، مائده آسمانی، ج2، ص 83)
“Oh two dear friends, do you know in what sea Abdu’l-Baha is sinking .. now I am determined on journeying to the West so that I may perform service to [Baha’u’llah’s] court.” (Ishraq Khawari, Maidiyih Asimani, vol 2, p. 83)
As you can see in the image, a section from this tablet has been replaced with “..” After some serious digging, we finally found the original tablet in its uncensored form on page 162 of the 17th volume of the Iranian National Baha’i Archives ( http://www.h-net.org/~bahai/index/diglib/INBA.htm ). An image from this tablet is provided below with the censored section marked in red:
This is what the original version reads:
«ای دو یار عزیز هیچ می دانید که عبدالبهاء غرق چه دریایی است قسم به اسم اعظم روحی لعتبه الفداء که یکسال است یکدفعه فرصت یافتم که به حمام بروم دیگر ملاحظه نمایید که چه اوضاعیست حال مصمم حرکت به فرنگستانم که شاید خدمتی بآستان نمایم.»
“Oh two dear friends, do you know in what sea Abdu’l-Baha is sinking. I swear by the greatest name, may my soul be sacrificed for his shrine, that it is [now] one year that I have only had time to bathe once. See what a situation we have. Now I am determined on journeying to the West so that I may perform service to [Baha’u’llah’s] court.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Iranian National Baha’i Archives [INBA], vol. 17, p. 162)
Abdu’l-Baha confesses that he hadn’t bathed for one year! It is totally understandable why the UHJ would want to censor this statement.

You are here: Home>Articles> The Baha'i Belief in Reincarnation
Even though Baha’is vehemently deny that they believe in reincarnation, there are explicit writings in the Baha’i corpus that show the contrary. In the current article we will mention three of Baha’u’llah’s Tablets where he expresses this meaning. Unfortunately, to date, none of these tablets have been officially translated by Baha’i authorities.
The first table that we will cite is called the Tablet of Visitation (Ziyarat). Baha’u’llah claims in this tablet that he was reincarnated age after age into many different people including: Able who was killed by Cain, Abraham who was thrown into fire by Nimrod, Moses who suffered at the hands of the Pharaoh, Jesus who was put on the cross, Muhammad who suffered at the hands of Abu-Jahl, Imam Husayn who was martyred and beheaded, the Bab who was suspended in the air and then killed, and finally as himself who was imprisoned and banished:
This is a book from the wronged one who is referred to in the Kingdom of Existence as Baha; and in the Most High majesty as the Most Exalted; and in the Sky of Concealment using all of God’s most beautiful Names; and in the Land of Creation as Husayn, but the majority of the people are under a great veil and delusion. Things happened to him in every era that only God the Greatest Exalted King can enumerate.
Once he was afflicted at the hands of Cain and was killed in God’s path and ascended to Him oppressedly and this is what happened in the past and God was witness to this and well aware of it.
Once he was afflicted at the hands of Nimrod (Abraham’s enemy) and was thrown in fire and God made the fire for him a light and mercy and He certainly protects his close servants.
Once he was afflicted at the hands of Pharaoh (Moses’ enemy) and things happened to him that would burn the hearts of the sincere.
Once he was put on the cross and ascended to God the Mighty, the Beautiful.
Once he was afflicted at the hands of Abu-Jahl (Muhammad’s enemy) and those hypocrites that stood up against him with dissension and things happened to him that cannot be expressed through words. The Merciful is well aware about the things that happened to him and witnessed them.
Once he was killed innocently in the land of Taff (Karbala). Those that God associates with His Illuminant Sacred Self were martyred alongside him. Then they beheaded him and took his family as prisoners and paraded them in the lands and this is what reached him from the armies of the Devils.
Once he was suspended in the air and was martyred in the path of God the Dominant, the Mighty, the Most Capable.
Once he was imprisoned in the Land of Ta (Tehran) for forty well known months and the pen of the worlds cannot enumerate the things that happened to me. After that they freed me from prison and banished me and my family from my land until we reached Iraq and dwelled there.
In that land, people who were created by my order, did things to us that no one can enumerate. They acted towards us with hypocrisy at every chance they got, but we concealed the affair and gave glad tidings to the people and preached for God the Dominant, the Beautiful. (Baha’u’llah, Athar-i Qalam-i A`la, vol. 2, no. 91, p. 607-8 [Canada: Association for Baha’i studies in Persian, 2002])
In another Tablet, called the Tablet of Pilgrimage to the House in Baghdad (Hajj-i Bayt-i Baghdad), Baha’u’llah repeats the same statements about himself:
“Wasn’t this (meaning himself) from the signs of God and wasn’t this youth His servant and beauty and then His splendor and light and then His order and luminance. And he shone with the lights that eclipse all suns when they shine, and how is [the state] of these oppressors? Say by God, he descended from the sky of commandment while in his right hand was the kingdom of splendor and power. He invites people to the Garden of Holiness and he fears no one even though the polytheists from among these infidels have surrounded him. Say He appeared once with the name of the First Badi` (Adam or Able?), then another time with the name of Khalil (Abraham), then with the name of Kalim (Moses), then with the name of the Spirit (Jesus), then with the name of Habib (Muhammad), then with the name of Ali (the Bab) with truth, and then with the name of Husayn (Baha’u’llah) in this holy, illuminant, brilliant, beauty.” (Baha’u’llah, Athar-i Qalam-i A`la, vol. 2, no. 84, p. 518 [Canada: Association for Baha’i studies in Persian, 2002])
Yet again Baha’u’llah repeats similar statements in another of his writings called Surat ad-Dam (Surah of Blood):
“Oh people! I am definitely Ali (the Bab) who has returned again after the first return and I manifested for you things that are greater than what I had manifested before . . . Oh Lord! I praise you for the novelties that you have destined and all your calamities. Once You put me in the hands of Nimrod (Abraham’s enemy), then in the hands of the Pharaoh (Moses’ enemy) and they inflicted upon me what You have enumerated in Your Knowledge and have encompassed by Your Will. And once You placed me in the Prison of the infidels for I narrated to the Blind people a single letter from a dream that You had revealed to me by Your Knowledge and had made me understand by Your Majesty. And once you beheaded me by the hands of the infidels and once you crucified me because of what I had expressed from the hidden Jewels of your splendid Oneness and the novel remnants of your everlasting Majesty. And once You afflicted me in the land of Taff (Karbala) such that I was alone among your servants and abandoned in Your land until they cut off my head and raised it on top of spears and paraded it in all lands and brought it to the sitting place of polytheists and the position of infidels. And once they suspended me in the air and hit me with the bullets of enmity and hatred until my limbs were cut off and my body was torn apart. The times passed until today in which the foes have gathered [to take] my life and are always planning to turn the people into my enemies...” (Baha’u’llah, Athar-i Qalam-i Ala, vol. 2, no. 75, pp. 396-7 [Canada: Association for Baha’i studies in Persian, 2002])
In case you’re wondering why there is no mention of Buddha, Krishna, and etc: Being brought up in nineteenth century Iran, Baha’u’llah probably didn’t even know that these people existed. These figures were added to the so called Baha’i “manifestations” years later when Baha’u’llah and Abdu’l-Baha came into contact with followers of these individuals in Palestine. In fact, there is no reference whatsoever to Buddha in Baha’u’llah’s writings.

You are here: Home>Articles> How Baha’is Usurped Muslim Endowments by the Help of the Israeli Government
Mazra’ih (Masra’ih) is the name of a mansion and surrounding land that Baha’u’llah had lived in for two years when he was ‘allegedly’ imprisoned in Palestine. According to an article in the Baha’i magazine, Baha’i News, this land belonged to the Muslims and could not be legally sold to the Baha’is:
“Masra'ih is a Moslem religious endowment, and it is consequently impossible, under existing laws in this country, for it to be sold. However, as the friends are aware, the Ministry of Religions, due to the direct intervention of the Minister himself, Rabbi Maimon, consented, in the face of considerable opposition, to deliver Masra'ih to the Baha'is as a Holy Place to be visited by Baha'i pilgrims. This means that we rent it from the Department of Moslem and Druze affairs in the Ministry of Religions. The head of this Department is also a Rabbi, Dr. Hirschberg. Recently he, his wife and party, visited all the Baha'i properties in Haifa and 'Akka, following upon a very pleasant tea party in the Western Pilgrim House with the members of the International Baha'i Council.” (Baha’i News, no. 244, June 1951, p. 4)
According to this document the land was forcefully taken from the Muslims and delivered to the Baha’is in return for a rent which was paid to the Israeli government.
A few years later, the land is officially usurped for good and sold to the Baha’is by the Israeli government (it must be noted that Muslim endowments cannot be sold). The Universal House of Justice then sends out a letter to Baha’is worldwide happily informing them that this Muslim Endowment –that cannot be sold or purchased- has been bought by the UHJ:
“The Mansion of Mazra`ih, often referred to by the beloved Guardian as one of the "twin mansions" in which the Blessed Beauty resided after nine years within the walled prison-city of `Akká, and dear to the hearts of the believers by reason of its associations with their Lord, has at last been purchased together with 24,000 square metres of land extending into the plain on its eastward side.” (The Universal House of Justice, from Ridvan 1973 message; Messages from the Universal House of Justice, 1968-1973)
Is this an achievement that one should be proud of?

You are here: Home>Articles> The Failed Baha’i Prophecy About All Iranian Jews Converting to Baha’ism
In one of his letters on the occasion of the death of a number of Baha’is in Yazd and Isfahan, Abdu’l-Baha tries to blame the Scholars of Iran for their death and claims these deaths were the result of the Jealousy of Shia scholars due to the massive conversion of Persians to Baha’ism. This is what he states in a section of this letter that is part of the suppressed Baha’i texts that Baha’is simply refuse to translate to English:
“In summary, in these days the scholars of the Shia [belief], meaning the former religion of Iran, noticed that the call of God has been raised, and the East and West have stirred, the lights of the sun of truth have spread to such an extent that the eyes have become illuminated, the flag of the cause of God has been hoisted, the people enter by troops under the word of God (i.e. they are converting to Baha’ism), and the Shia have become Baha’is. Even the Israelites (Jews) are so excited and astonished that soon not a single one of them will remain in Iran but that he will be guided to the highest guidance (i.e. he would become a Baha’i). Also the majority of the Parsis (Zoroastrians), who are the ancient people of Iran and deny all the Prophets like Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad), testify and admit that all Books, Messengers, and Divine Prophets [are legitimate] and with the utmost truthfulness and serenity have become Baha’is. This has become a source of animosity and jealousy for the evil scholars…” (Abdu’l-Baha, Makatib [Letters], vol. 3, pp. 124-125)
The aforementioned paragraph is replete with false statements:
1- Shia Islam is called the “former religion of Iran” thus making it seem that Baha’ism is now officially the religion of Iranians and most of the population have converted to Baha’ism. The intention to induce such a meaning is evident from what Abdu’l-baha states in the remainder of the paragraph.
2- It is stated that “the people enter by troops under the word of God (i.e. they are converting to Baha’ism), and the Shia have become Baha’is.” This is also false because the percentage of Baha’i converts in Iran among the population was minute and still is.
3- He claims “Even the Israelites (Jews) are so excited and astonished that ere long not a single one of them will remain in Iran but that he will be guided to the highest guidance (i.e. they will all become Baha’is).” This is obviously false and a failed prophecy because more than a century has passed since this claim was made but Iran still retains the second-highest Jewish population in the middle-east.
4- He also claims that the majority of Zoroastrians are now Baha’is. The falsity of this sentence is self-evident and needs no further explanation.
If one were to read these statements in light of Baha’i claims about the station of Abdu’l-Baha, including the infallibility of his Pen,[1] his superhuman knowledge,[2] the reception of direct inspirations from Baha’u’llah,[3] his own claims about knowing everything when he wants,[4] and that whatever he says is fact,[5] it would quickly become clear that these statements are all part of a great deception.
[1] “Little wonder that from the same unerring pen there should have flowed, after Abdu’l-Baha’s memorable visit to the West” (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order of Baha’u’llah, p. 75)
[2] “while it does not by any means justify us to assign to Him the station of Prophethood, indicates how in the person of ‘Abdu’l-Bahā the incompatible characteristics of a human nature and superhuman knowledge and perfection have been blended and are completely harmonized,” (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order of Baha’u’llah, p. 134.)
[3] “That Abdu’l-Baha is not a Manifestation of God, that He gets His light, His inspiration and sustenance direct from the Fountain-head of the Baha’i Revelation; that He reflects even as a clear and perfect Mirror the rays of Baha’u’llah’s glory … His words are not equal in rank, though they possess an equal validity with the utterances of Baha’u’llah” (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order of Baha’u’llah, p. 139)
[4] “No, I do not know everything. But when I need to know something, it is pictured before me,” (Stanwood Cobb, Memories of Abdu’l-Baha in In his Presence: Visits to Abdu’l-Baha (Kalimat Press, 1989), p. 60)
[5] “Many times He said, `I do not make a claim of infallibility (ma`sumiyyat). I am the first of sinners (avval-i gunahkar). But the Blessed Beauty favored me with a gift (mawhibati). Whatever I say, it is that (har chih beguyam, haman ast).” (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jrcole/abinfall.htm)
